Current Book Project

The Tao of School Leadership

A 100-Day Journey Toward Purpose, Meaning, and Wholeness

A collection of 100 short reflections inviting school leaders to explore the inner as well as the professional dimensions of leadership. Each reflection begins with a quotation and explores themes such as purpose, courage, authenticity, presence, uncertainty, relationships, service, and wholeness.

Rather than offering another leadership model or set of strategies, the book asks a deeper question: Who are we becoming as we lead?

It is not primarily a book about how to lead. It is a book about how to live the experience of leadership.

Leadership, learning & human development

Selected strands of work that inform Gabriel’s writing and professional practice.

HumanEdu

Gabriel leads HumanEdu, an international community and gathering focused on strengthening the human dimensions of learning—wellbeing, relationships, socioemotional development, and purpose—as the foundation for meaningful educational innovation, particularly in a period of rapid technological change.

Leadership Retreats

Over the years, Gabriel has co-designed and facilitated leadership retreats with Ben Walden and Juan Pablo “Juampi” Ventura. These experiences allow school leaders to step away from operational pressures and reconnect with purpose, vocation, presence, relationships, and the kind of leaders they aspire to become.

The conversations and experiences emerging from these retreats have deeply informed The Tao of School Leadership.

The Learnerspace

As cofounder and director of The Learnerspace, Gabriel works with schools and educational leaders on transformation processes designed around real impact, sustainability, and the future of learning.

The Global School

Gabriel is cofounder and director of The Global School, the first institution of its kind in Latin America, created to make educational change tangible through an innovative school culture.

24h for Change in Education

Gabriel helps lead this global initiative and international event connecting organizations, networks, and educational leaders to make transformational practices visible, share learning, and accelerate agendas for change across contexts.

AI & the Future of Learning

In recent years, Gabriel has focused extensively on the responsible use of artificial intelligence in K–12 education—not only as a tool for efficiency, but as a form of cognitive extension that can enable new ways of learning, creating, evaluating, and making meaning.
